In order to provide the highest levels of safety, scuba diving in Queensland is subject to strict government and industry regulations. Before being allowed to participate in a dive on the Great Barrier Reef, your medical fitness will need to be assessed. This is done via a self-assessed medical declaration.
However, if you answer yes to any of the declarations questions, or fail the BMI test, you will be required to see a doctor (preferably one with dive experience) for a dive medical for clearance to scuba dive.
If you have any questions about your fitness to dive, or where to get a dive medical in Port Douglas, please don't hesitate to contact our Quicksilver Dive reservations team.
